Brooklyn Borough President, Marty Markowitz awarded 27-year-old award winning actor, Kevin Byrd with a citation for his work as an advocate for prostate cancer awareness. The Brooklyn Borough President presented the citation on behalf of over two million residents residing in the borough of Brooklyn.
Byrd's prostate cancer awareness campaign has garnered him international media status in over seventeen countries. In September, 2007, Byrd made his first international headlines in 17 countries, being featured in The Epoch International Times (the largest independent international newspaper reaching over 1.5 million people weekly worldwide in countries like United Kingdom, Canada, United States, Japan, China, Indonesia and Spain) for his prostate cancer awareness campaign.
