Stigma, fear, and embarrassment
Dr Richard Majors, a Black psychologist, says, "Many black men feel that it's one thing to go to the doctor; but it's another thing to have somebody stick something in your behind." Psychological stigma is also a barrier to many men getting tested early for this form of cancer. Fear and embarrassment also runs deep.
